How do I choose between 2-way and 4-way stretch for my dance costume?

4-way stretch is essential for high-performance dancewear as it expands both horizontally and vertically, allowing for maximum range of motion. We recommend our heavy-weight tricot for competitive costumes to ensure full coverage and durability.

Can Spandex Palace fabrics be used for professional swimwear?

Yes. Many of our polyester-spandex blends are chlorine-resistant and provide the UV protection needed for swimwear. Our vibrant hologram and foil prints are specially treated to retain their luster even after water exposure.

Is it possible to order fabric samples before committing to a bulk order?

Absolutely. We offer comprehensive color cards for our most popular lines, including our Foggy Foil, Moon Light, and Shattered Glass collections, so you can verify weight and color before purchasing.

Do you offer wholesale pricing for small business owners and studios?

Yes, we support our community through a robust wholesale program. Orders from our Los Angeles warehouse can save up to 45% on bulk quantities, helping costume designers and boutique shops maximize profitability.

What is the best way to care for foil and hologram fabrics?

To preserve the shine of your performance textiles, we recommend hand washing in cold water with mild detergent and hanging to dry. Avoid high heat or abrasive scrubbing, which can dull the metallic finish.

1. The Science of the "Wet Look"

Vinyl fabric (also known as PVC or Patent Spandex) is a composite textile. It begins with a 2-way or 4-way stretch base—typically a polyester or nylon knit—which is then laminated with a layer of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or Polyurethane (PU).

Gloss vs. Matte Vinyl: High-gloss vinyl offers a mirrored, "wet-look" finish that is waterproof and highly reflective. Matte or "Subdued" vinyl provides a tactical, leather-like aesthetic.
Thickness and Gauge: Professional grade vinyl is measured in millimeters or GSM. A higher gauge provides more structure for corsetry or boots, while a thinner gauge allows for the extreme mobility required in dance and cosplay.
